Why Nwodo was sacked –Jonathan
By UCHE USIM
President Goodluck Jonathan has said the resignation of Chief Okwesilieze Nwodo as National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was a good development that would move the party forward. The President who spoke with aviation correspondents yesterday at the Lagos Airport on arrival from Abuja said the party was working very hard to move forward and part of the necessary “rituals” was the “sacrifice” of the PDP National Chairman who had to resign his appointment.
His words: “The party chairman resigned. In every society, there are certain norms and when you observe certain aberrations, you must adjust the system. Every human system operates that way. Just like any society, we have encountered problems and we’re adjusting and there is nothing odd about it. Nwodo is still a senior member of the PDP but because of certain circumstances, we feel there are too many multiple litigations and the party is tired of these multiple litigations and the party does not want to be dragged into these litigations.
That is why he has to step aside so that the party can manage its affairs. Note that at this critical period that we’re to submit names of candidates to INEC that we have to be dragged into multiple litigations. We have a lot of respect for him and we always will so that the he can do his work as a senior member of the party,” president Jonathan stated.
On the controversies surrounding the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter’s registration exercise which many said began on a very shaky note, the President acknowledged there were problems with the Direct Data Capture (DDC) machines but said that INEC was looking into it.
“I don’t think the registration is slow. The turnout is good. A lot of Nigerians are undergoing registration and a lot of people are enthusiastic about it.
But we have problems with the machines and INEC is looking at it. I don’t want to speak for them. They’re an independent body. We have given them maximum freedom to do what is right. They had problems with some of the machine and they’re fixing it. By the grace of God, they’ll get over it,”he explained.
Prior to the arrival of the President, cultural troupes from all the ethnic groups in Nigeria, serving Military Chiefs, top politicians and other stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were among the crowd that stormed the Presidential Lounge of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos to receive him.
The visit was the first since he clinched the party’s ticket during last week’s primaries.
As early as 7.30am, scores of mobile policemen and other security operatives had arrived the lounge to ensure safety and security of the entire premises.
Also on ground were dance troupes from various ethnic groups.
Those who came to welcome the President include; PDP governorship aspirant in Lagos, Ade Dosunmu, Chairman Board of Directors of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Chief Ebitimi Banigo, Lagos State Police Commissioner, Marvel Akpoyibo, among other dignitaries.

Cure Snoring Problems With Stop-Snoring Solutions - Here Are 5 Snoring Cures
By Donna Jaremick
Sometimes people are afraid of doctors, but you can cure snoring problems with stop snoring solutions that do not involve visiting your doctor. There are many things you can do on your own, that are really inexpensive. Does snoring keep you awake? Are you at the point where you wake up in the morning and realize you have not even got to sleep yet, or you woke up so many times it feels like you just got to sleep? Let me tell you, it has happened to me too. So let me share with you some ways to cure snoring problems as soon as possible.
Lets get right to it then, shall we. The most common type of snore is referred to as mild. There are many ways to stop snoring and cure snoring problems in mild cases. I think these are very good ones and have worked for many people.
Try the following 5 stop snoring solutions:
1) You Could Lose Weight - Different studies show snoring to be very common in overweight people, both men and woman. Try to lose a few pounds if you fit this category. It will also improve your overall health and decrease your risk of other health related issues.
2) No Alcohol Especially Before Bed - This makes snoring even worse, as it relaxes the muscles in your throat and causes the airway to collapse more than it normally does, causing the tissue to vibrate more. Many individuals snore only after they have consumed alcohol, which is even worse while sleeping on your back.
3) Everybody Says To Quit Smoking - Smokers commonly tend to be snorers, this is due to the inflammation and swelling of the throat tissue. It is hard to quit this habit, but it does cause phlegm to form in the throat resulting in more tissue vibration which causes snoring. It will also improve your overall health, and you health is important.
4) Get An Extra Pillow - Any pillow that puts a kink in your neck can make you snore. Pillows elevate your head, but they also may increase your snoring level, unless you raise yourself about 4 inches off the bed. It sometimes helps to use a wedge shaped pillow that raises you head and torso which keeps your neck straight.
5) Drink Milk At Bedtime - People say that drinking a warm cup of milk will help you sleep, and it may do that, but it could also make you snore. Dairy product may cause extra mucous production in some people which will make you snore. This may sound funny, but I think it is why my cat snores.
Now if you have severe snoring, or maybe sleep apnea, you have a much more serious problem. Millions of other people all over the world snore. I am sure you have tried different ways to stop snoring and wish you could cure snoring, but the above methods will not solve sleep apnea.
There are many more ways to stop snoring or cure snoring problems. These are just a few of the common one you can try for your own snoring problems. There are literally hundreds of stop snoring products on the market to cure snoring problems, but I would try these simple behavioral changes first and see if they help. You really do deserve a peaceful nights rest. You will be much more productive the next day.
Do not lose another night of sleep, nudging your partner to turn over all night. Snoring affects about 45% of the adult population, preventing a good night sleep for millions of people. It is unhealthy to not get proper rest, night after night. The average person requires 8 hours of sleep a day so they can function properly. There are many proven techniques that you can learn about which will help you both to stop the snoring once and for all.

How to Overcome Insomnia and Get the Sleep You Deserve
By Summer S
Insomnia is a very disturbing sleeping disorder. I am speaking as one who has the misfortune of knowing what it feels like firsthand. So I write- and research in hopes of finding answers to my sleeplessness and to help those who, like me, are having rough mornings and restless nights. From what I have read insomnia is considered to be a result of many factors; the most common broken down into psychological and physical causes, and of course, temporary events or factors. Insomnia also comes in different forms- what I am trying to say here is that it can mean having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep- waking up in the middle of the night and having trouble falling back to sleep.
As one who has trouble getting to dream land and staying there, insomnia is a least welcomed visitor on my end. I often find myself barking and biting heads off, anxious and agitated, angered at the tiniest bit of provocation. However, the effects of insomnia are not limited to irate feelings or raging emotions alone. Insomnia, even the type transient insomnia- when it last for less than a week, can lead to day time impaired functioning. Short term insomnia, when it lasts for more than a week but less than three weeks, leads to a much than just day time impaired functioning. It leads to impaired judgment throughout the whole day and carrying it on to the night. However, when it last for more than three weeks, it is already considered chronic insomnia. Chronic insomnia leads to chronic day time fatigue, impaired judgment, and impaired functioning.
Although this annoying sleeping disorder is caused mostly by stress, our hygiene also affects our sleeping abilities. By hygiene I do not necessarily mean your cleanliness- stuff like body odor- although they, by all means, may contribute. By hygiene I mean your sleeping hygiene. Poor sleeping hygiene includes using the bedroom for other things than sleeping such as working in bed, eating before going to sleep, going to bed hungry, and being passive about lighting and noise control of the bedroom.
So how does a person defeat insomnia? How does one get to fight for his right to sleep? To an entry to a world detached from painful realities? To his right to peace and rest? I came across many articles and sites and all of which had some tips to share. So I decided to zip the information and make it less time consuming to go through the tips.
If the condition is stress related, the first thing you can do to help you sleep is to relieve yourself of that stress. Before you go to bed when it is time for the long shut eye, take a piece of paper and a pen and write down the things you have to do the next day. Make it a habit to physically and mentally get it out of your mind and onto that paper. You can also try improving your chances of sleeping by not watching too much television before the big show. Avoid anything with caffeine and alcohol. You are trying to get some shut-eye. You might also cut down on that number of cigarettes. Try a glass of milk and if you really can not take down milk, try herb tea: cup of hot chamomile, catnip, anise or fennel tea. They contain natural ingredients that will help you sleep.
Remember the sleeping hygiene. Make sure that your room is well ventilated and that it has proper lighting. Make sure that you have a nice, firm bed, or that you can get comfortable with your own bed. Another thing most sites had in common is breathing exercises. Try to do a low key type of meditation. Focus on your breathing and visualize something peaceful.
Now do not get me wrong but I am going to be very honest with you. None of the stuff I have been writing has worked for me. I am a chronic insomniac. I hardly get any sleep- until, which is of course, when my body collapses. Anyway, the things that work for me are actually very simple. I exercise- in hopes of tiring myself out. I count sheep, cows, and all sorts of animals. Those are the only two things that work for me.
While in most cases the reason for such are stress, jet lag, or a mere case of temporary situations such as moving to a new house, insomnia can also be a manifestation of a serious illness or medical condition. So like you have probably heard a zillion times, if a problem persist, consult your doctor. Sleep well.

Three Alternative Skin Cancer Treatment Options
By Ty Daniel
The first thought that many people have when they are diagnosed with cancer is a worrying about chemotherapy. Chemotherapy has proven itself to be an effective killer of cancer cells, but it also has many negative side effects that cause some people to forgo chemo altogether, and take their chances with battling cancer themselves. If those were your only two options, cancer could seem like an automatic death sentence. Luckily, there are many alternative options to chemotherapy. Here are a few alternative skin cancer treatment options that you should look into before you start your chemotherapy.
The most important thing that you can do if you are diagnosed with cancer is to start eating an anti-cancer diet. Cancer needs you to feed it. It is a disease that feeds off of the sugars in the body. One way to slow the spread of cancer is to give it less to eat. The best way to do this is by eliminating sugar and carbohydrates in your diet. If you do not consume these natural sugars, than the cancer will have less to feed on. You want to concentrate your diet on all natural fruits and grains. There have been many studies that show the benefits of eating raw foods against cancer.
Many people will also turn to holistic medicines before they turn to chemotherapy. This method has been effective for some people, but there isn't much documentation to back up these alternative skin cancer treatment options. Still, you should do your research and talk to your doctor about taking herbs and practicing acupuncture. You might find that it is your best option.
The most popular form of alternative skin cancer treatment is actually a treatment method that utilizes chemotherapy. IPT uses insulin to make cancer cells more susceptible to chemotherapy. Because the cells become more vulnerable during IPT treatment, patients can use 1/10 of the amount of radiation that they would normal undergo during typical chemotherapy. This can greatly reduce the side effects of radiation, while still providing a high level of effectiveness. This method is becoming more and more popular. If you have been diagnosed with cancer, make sure that you talk to your doctor about this treatment option.
There are, of course, many other alternative skin cancer treatment options. If you have been diagnosed with cancer, you have to realize that your best weapon is information. Take your time to research your disease and find out the best way to treat it.
Ty has lost 7 close family members due to cancer. He devoted the last decade of his life to medical research to find alternative skin cancer treatment and cures so you and your family don't have to experience the same tragedy.

Skin Cancer-Learn How to Protect Yourself
By Mary Barrow
Often you will hear doctors, nurses and others talking about the "ABCDs" of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. This mnemonic, the ABCDs, was developed to help you evaluate changes in moles on your body in order to recognize melanoma at its earliest stages. It is important to understand that although melanoma is the deadliest of all skin cancers, it is also easily detectable and curable when found and treated early.
The ABCDs of melanoma are used by the Skin Cancer Foundation, the American Academy of Dermatology, the National Cancer Foundation and most other institutions and individuals concerned with early detection.
Here are the ABCDs of melanoma:
A. Asymmetry. Draw an imaginary line down the middle of any mole and ask yourself if the two halves match. Ordinary moles are usually round and symmetrical, while melanomas are often asymmetrical.
B. Border. Ordinary moles are round or oval and have well-defined, smooth, even borders. Melanomas often have irregular, uneven, or notched borders. Also, pigment spreading from the border of the mole into surrounding skin is a warning sign of melanoma.
C. Color. Ordinary moles are usually one even color throughout and are most often brown, tan or flesh colored. If you mole has several colors, including black, brown, red, white and blue, or an irregular pattern of colors, it may be melanoma.
D. Diameter. Watch for a change in the size of your moles. Ordinary moles are generally less than six millimeters (a quarter of an inch) in diameter, or about the diameter of a pencil eraser. Melanomas may be as small as an eight of an inch, but they are often larger.
Sometimes, you will also hear an "E" attached to the mnemonic. This stands for evolve. While it is not part of the classic skin cancer alphabet, it is important to know that ordinary moles usually do not change over time. A mole that changes in size, shape, shades of color, surface or symptoms may be suspicious. Further, it it tingles, itches, burns or feels strange, it may be evolving and should be checked.
Other warning signs include a sore that does not heal or any change in the surface of a mole, such as scaliness, oozing or bleeding.
Any suspicious change in a mole should be evaluated by a doctor immediately.
Learn the skin cancer alphabet and practice it. It could save your life.
